The streets are flat, tree-lined, and very safe for walking at any time of the day. In the heart of the neighborhood stands the Embaré Basilica, a stunning church that is one of the city’s main landmarks and absolutely worth visiting — even if just to take a photo of its beautifully illuminated façade at night.

The beach is literally your backyard. The beachfront promenade and bike path are perfect for a morning walk or an afternoon bike ride. And when the sun gets stronger, simply choose one of the seaside kiosks to sit down, order a portion of fried fish bites, and enjoy a cold beer or fresh coconut water while looking at the ocean.

Embaré is also a gastronomic paradise. You’ll be close to everything: from amazing bakeries for a delicious breakfast to Japanese restaurants, pizzerias, and burger spots. And you definitely shouldn’t leave Santos without visiting the traditional Bar do Toninho to try the city’s most famous codfish fritter!

Embaré has one of the most convenient and accessible locations in Santos, making both your arrival and your day-to-day stay extremely easy, whether you are traveling by car or public transportation. Since it is a beachside and lively area, finding street parking on weekends and holidays may require a bit of patience. However, the apartment is close to practically everything you may need during your stay.

Santos Bus Terminal:

Located in the city center, about 15 to 20 minutes by car or Uber from the apartment. The route is straightforward and very affordable by ride-hailing apps.

Airports:

Santos does not currently have an active commercial airport. The nearest airports are in São Paulo:

Congonhas Airport (CGH): Approximately 75 km away (around 1 hour and 15 minutes by car, depending on traffic on the mountain road). This is the fastest and most convenient option.

Guarulhos International Airport (GRU): Approximately 100 km away (around 1 hour and 45 minutes by car). Ideal for international flights or travelers coming from more distant regions.

Tip for travelers arriving through the airports: There are direct executive buses (operated by Cometa) departing from both Guarulhos and Congonhas airports that will take you directly to the Santos Bus Terminal or to the Mendes Plaza Hotel, which is very close to Embaré.

Getting Around the Neighborhood:

On Foot: This is the best option! Since the city is completely flat and the apartment is located by the beach, markets, bakeries, restaurants, and pharmacies are all within a few blocks.

Bicycle: You can rent bikes from the city’s public bike-sharing system (Bike Santos), with several stations located nearby, and enjoy the beachfront bike path.

Uber / Taxi / VLT: Ride-hailing apps work very quickly in the area. If you want to visit the Historic Center or the Gonzaga neighborhood, you can also use the VLT (Light Rail Transit system), which has stations near the neighborhood.
